Just south of South Beach Park, this public park takes a different approach to a day at the beach. Featuring picnic tables under shelters with grills, restrooms, an outdoor shower and even a playground, South Inlet Park offers more of the amenities that families look for. Leashed dogs are allowed.
Walk out onto the jetty or stroll along the beach to look for sea turtle tracks. Snorkelers even report turtles lazily swimming just offshore. Or, you can watch boats coming in and out of the inlet. Be aware that seaweed is not routinely cleared from the beach, so if the weather has been stormy before your visit you may encounter quite a bit washed up on shore.
