Historic Spring Festival and Spokane Tradition

This traditional event is held each year during the third week in May when the city's spectacular lilacs are in bloom. The Lilac Festival has been held in Spokane each year since 1938. The festival is filled with fun for everyone. The parade features a myriad of floats, marching bands, and other performers while the fest also features a royal court, a military luncheon, car show, and so much more. Since its beginning, the Lilac Festival is also regarded as the gateway to the summer season. People enjoy the fest for its spirit of community and exciting activities. If you happen to be in town, you won't want to miss this flower-filled event.
