On the beautiful campus of Santa Clara University, you'll find the de Saisset Museum, whose namesake, Isabel de Saisset, left a large amount of land to the university to help it fund a properly appointed museum. And fund they did, and properly appointed it is. The permanent collection features art and artifacts that speak to the history and culture of California. With 30 active docents who are extensively trained and highly knowledgeable about California history, the museum promotes an appreciation for the history of the Santa Clara Valley, the Greater Bay Area, and California at large. Admission to the museum is always free, so there's no excuse to miss this highly revered Santa Clara landmark while you're perusing the SCU campus.
