Naples is best known for it's upscale shopping and world class beaches, but it's underrated culinary scene is finally beginning to get its time in the sun as well. The ritzy 5th Avenue South provides your retail therapy for those with shopping on the mind, with its boutique shops, cozy cafes and luxury brands. Tin City provides an old school alternative that's just as fun - waterfront stores dealing in antiques and local handmade goods line the waterfront in fun little shops. With multiple James Beard Award winning chefs opening excellent restaurants in Naples, there's never been a better time to explore this under the radar food destination. Among the best is The 1500, a modern restaurant from renowned Chef Art Smith (famed for being Oprah Winfrey's former personal chef and a favorite of Michelle Obama - and that's good enough for us!) as well as the upscale eateries located at Inn on Fifth and Club Level Suites. Budget conscious foodies fear not - Taqueria San Julian 2 and Rumba Cafe provide cheaper fare without sacrificing the flavor.
Let's be real though - yes the shopping is luxurious, the cuisine is divine - but you're going to come here for the beaches. The eponymous Naples Beach (and ever-popular fishing pier), the pearlescent sand of Lowdermilk beach, the pristine city escape beaches of the Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park - there are enough picturesque beaches here to keep you bronzed and flashing pearly whites as bright as the sugar-white sand.
