Tuesday Afternoon

Tuesday Afternoon isn't just a Moody Blues song, it is the time of the week when you will want to be at the Old Monterey Marketplace on Alvarado Street. The Old Monterey Farmers Market is held rain or shine year round on Tuesdays. It comprises 3.5 city blocks and attracts more than 10,000 locals and tourists in one location.

You can travel the world in those 3.5 blocks, finding art, jewelry, furniture, clothing, flowers, pastries, food, and more from destinations both near and far. There are organic produce vendors from all over California and arts and crafts vendors from Africa to Japan.

The market also takes the time to include community events, such as blood drives, pet adoptions, voter registration, and more.
