And don't forget to check out Del Monte Beach as well. As an extension of Monterey Beach, it has all the same amenities. But it doesn't generally have lifeguards on duty. So be extra careful if braving the waves. While the Monterey beaches may be breathtakingly gorgeous, the rip tide can be very strong and those hoping to go for a swim should do so with caution (not to mention, this is Northern California, so the waters are probably pretty cold).
