You can let your kids run wild away from your neighbor's lawn at Dennis the Menace Park in downtown Monterey, California. Named after the famous comic strip character, Dennis the Menace is actually a playground inside the 45 acre El Estero Park. The park features a lake, ball field, skate park, youth center, dance studio, picnic area, and snack bar.
The Dennis the Menace playground is free and open year round from 10 a.m. to dusk, but it is closed on Tuesdays from September to May. It features a toddler area in addition to the main play area for older kids. It is a fantastic place for your kids to burn off some energy.
