Easily one of the most loved state parks along the California coast, the Andrew Molera State Park is located at the mouth of the Big Sur River, adjacent to the Los Padres National Forest. Although just 20 miles south of Carmel, the woods and beach provide wonderful opportunities for hiking the trails or walking along the shore.
Camping is only allowed at the 24 camp sites, and a maximum of four people are allowed to occupy the sites. Each must be reserved at the ranger's office on a first-come, first-served basis. Seasonal bridges over the winding Big Sur River are provided during the summer. Dogs are not allowed.
