The largest and earliest Renaissance festival in the United States, this is a fun, family-friendly and well-organized celebration of all things from the history of centuries gone by. With tournament jousting (three times a day!), a costume parade and many other events, visitors can also enjoy a day of immersing themselves in crafts, arts, foods and beverages, rides, games and displays of ancient crafts. Open weekends and Labor Day, spend some time strolling across the grounds and watching the costumed participants play their roles from Medieval and Renaissance times. If you want to get more involved, costume rentals are available. Remember, though: This is Minnesota, so winter is coming. Why not spend a summer weekend enjoying the warm and fun of the festival?
