Uplifting the Spirit

Aside from being the seat of the Catholic Archdiocese of Milwaukee for more than a century and a half, this cathedral is also a stunning piece of architecture. The original structure was built in 1847, and hasn't changed much other than to be repaired or renovated to ensure its preservation.

The church was reopened after extensive renovations in 2002, in which steps were taken to restore it as a Milwaukee landmark. The church is noted for it's graceful, unique design and It's worth a visit to discover the German style known as Zopfstil and see the impressive bell tower.
