Ok, so this not the type of place we usually recommend but in Los Angeles, grungy street food is a huge part of the culture. Corn Man (as he is known by locals) is an overwhelming favorite for authentic Mexican style street corn (elote). Yup, that's right, this guy just sells corn, and in front of a 99¢ store. So if this is not your type of thing...we get it. But if buttery, succulent corn on the cob, shaved into a bowl and smothered with parmesan cheese and chili powder all for $1.50 sounds like your kinda place, don't hesitate and grab some corn from LA's favorite street corn man (yes, that's right, LA has enough street corn to be able to even claim a favorite). It's delicious!
*This guy is popular so expect a line if you are trying get a late night snack.
*Lincoln Heights is not one of LA's safer neighborhoods so be aware!
