Opened to the public in 1993, the Museum of Tolerance is dedicated to helping visitors understand the Holocaust in a number of contexts, both historical and modern. There are four main exhibits. The Holocaust Section is a guided presentation that covers the period between the1920s and 1954. The Tolerance Center focuses on issues of intolerance in our daily lives, and the Anne exhibit is a retelling of Anne Frank's story through artifacts, photographs and other documents. Finding Our Families, Finding Ourselves is all about diversity in our everyday lives and features the personal histories of noted Americans like Dr. Maya Angelou and Joe Torre.
