You probably remember The Hollywood Improv from the A&E series "An Evening at the Improv," which was wildly popular in the 1980s. The Improv franchise started in 1963, and the Hollywood Improv opened its doors in 1975. Since then, nearly every big name in comedy has graced the stage. The atmosphere in this small club is intimate, and the audience is seated at small tables rather than in rows of chairs, which is nice because you have somewhere to set your drinks. There's a two-drink minimum, and the club offers food from the attached restaurant. Get there early for good seats, and keep your eyes peeled for famous funny people who often stop by to catch an act.
