Movie lovers must visit the Hollywood Heritage Museum for its eclectic collection of movie memorabilia and props. Because the museum is located across the street from the Hollywood Bowl, it's important to check museum hours; the museum is often closed because of Hollywood Bowl events. When you visit the museum, you'll be treated to marvelous displays of photos that date to the era of silent films. There is also considerable memorabilia associated with the early days of Hollywood. Home to the site of the first filmed movie in Hollywood, the museum may be more modest in terms of other Hollywood venues (i.e. Universal Studios), but it contains rare gems of the movie-making history.
