Power and Prestige

Tour the Tallac Historic Site and learn how San Francisco's elite families spent their summers in the early part of the 20th century. A variety of tours and programs are offered between June and September.

Start your visit at the Baldwin Museum and learn about life at the resort in the 1930s. You'll see firsthand how the rich and powerful lived during a tour of the Pope House, and you might just hear a little juicy gossip too. Several private tours offer a glimpse into daily living at the resort, including the Servants Tour and Tea with Mrs. Tevis.

Utrip Tips

*You can rent a bike and make your way in that way, too.
*Check out the different events that happen here throughout the summer.
*There's also the Lake of the Sky Trail, if you're feeling a hike.
*Recommended by Local Experts Mike Papa and Diana Evans
*Local Expert Diana Evans recommends this for runners: "Run through Valhalla and the Heller Estates along the beach, next to Camp Richardson’s Resort. It’s a beautiful run and fun to stop and read about the history. Then come back in the evening for one of their many music or theatrical performances. It’s a place not to be missed."
