Two-Thousand Acres

With challenging trail and tree courses, Sierra-at-Tahoe offers the ultimate skiing and snowboarding adventure. The resort, located 12 miles west of South Lake Tahoe, even has its own nationally recognized halfpipe. Sierra-at-Tahoe also offers snowshoeing and tubing.

After an exhilarating day on the slopes, try one of the resorts' eight restaurants and six bars. There's no better way to relax than with a cold beer at the Sierra Pub, located at the base of the slopes.

Utrip Tips

*Recommended by Local Expert Jenn Gleckman: "Great tree skiing (especially on a powder day), good for families, varied terrain, award winning parks (if that’s your thing). Try: Upper and Lower Powderhorn (blue run) off West Bowl Express and Castle (black run) off Grandview Express." For lunch on the mountain, Jenn says: "Check out 360° Smokehouse BBQ, at the top of Grandview Express (one word: sweet potato fries)." Après skiing, Jenn recommends "Sierra Pub & Deli: Après specials, live music (including Sierra’s own GM John Rice & Family), and even wine tastings."
