Slip away from the hustle and bustle of some of Tahoe's more famous beaches and find a peaceful oasis on Kiva Beach. This beautiful stretch of shoreline offers free parking, is much less crowded, allows dogs, and still provides beautiful views and a sandy shoreline.
The stretch of sand is a bit more narrow than some other beaches and it's not uncommon to find yourself at a rockier stretch. However, soft sandy areas certainly exist along Kiva Beach.
While you're here, also check out the Taylor Creek Visitors Center, only a short walk from the shoreline. The picnic area is nestled between the Visitors Center and the Tallac Historic Site and is complete with picnic tables, BBQs, and restrooms, so if you get bored of sitting in the sun, you can take a scenic stroll to either.
