J.T. Basque Bar & Dining Room is one of the absolute fixtures of the Carson Valley, occupying a Victorian-era building brought here way back in 1896 from Virginia City. The restaurant's proudly run by the family of the Basque sheepherder Jean Lekumberry, who bought the place with his brother in 1960 and long managed it as an inn and eatery.
J.T. Basque remains as welcoming as ever, serving up delicious Basque-inspired meals, wine, and cocktails. The grass-fed, antibiotic-free beef on the menu hails from the Lekumberry family's Carson Valley ranch, and the proprietors source many other ingredients from local and regional producers. So swing by with an appetite and raise your glass to the establishment's rich history: Topa!
