Bring The Kids Out Into The Snow

These small parks located along the Carson Pass are a fun and safe place to bring the kids to sled and tube when the snow is on the ground. In addition to the one at Carson Pass, there are sno-parks at Meiss Meadow, Hope Valley and Iron Mountain.

Just be aware that these parks are usually not available until several days after a heavy snowfall. They're also semi-primitive, with pit toilets and not much else in the way of amenities. You'll also need either an annual pass or a $5 day pass, which can be purchased online or from a ranger station.
