And On This Rock

A basilica that recalls the words that began the church itself, this church has its own storied past. Services have been held at this location as early as 1846. This makes it the oldest Catholic parish in the state, and it was also the site of the first Catholic School in Florida. You don't have to be religious to appreciate the history and architectural prowess of this church, which is built on an oolitic limestone rock, and constructed out of concrete which has been mixed with local limestone, coral, and sand.
