Visit this museum and gallery to see the history and contemporary creations that make up the Florida Keys. Local artists and their creations, both artistic and architectural, are preserved and appreciated here. The building itself is an artistic and historic display. It was actually the official customs house, post office, and district court in the 1840s. The exhibits here focus on social transition, important historic events, and local history. The Custom House is part of the Key West Art and Historical Society, which also includes the Lighthouse and Keepers Quarters and Fort East Martello.
