The Pegasus Plaza in downtown Dallas City Center has become an iconic landmark and is regularly used as the site for many special events.
According to legend, when the mythical Pegasus took off a spring flowed from where his hoof had touched the ground. In keeping with the legend, the plaza features a hot spring fountain, which stems from an existing natural mineral spring that runs 1,600 feet below the Magnolia Building.
There are plenty of other Greek allusions within the fountain park plaza. Made from native Texas limestone, granite, a huge quartz crystal and lighting device components, there are various other pieces that represent the myth in geologic terms.
