Heaven knows, the residents of Chicago look forward to the summer months, and the Ravina Festival of concerts gives them a special reason to survive the winter. Ever since 1905 (making this the oldest outdoor music festival in the United States), locals and visitors alike have gathered for concerts in this wonderful park from June through September. The music is as eclectic as the city, including classical/concert, jazz, R&B and even rock.
If you want the "good seats" in the 3,400-seat venue, understand that you'll have to purchase your tickets well in advance. Or, if you want to have a casual evening of fun, just bring blankets, foot, drinks and, of course, bug spray and lounge on the lawn.
