Over 3,000 years of history, art and culture are represented in the collections of this special museum. Located in the Pilsen neighborhood, in the heart of the Mexican community of Chicago, the NMMA provides exhibits on all aspects of Mexican civilization from both sides of the border.
Although it was only established in the late 1980s, the museum has grown to include more than 8,500 objects in a 48,000 square-foot facility. Their collections include folk art, photography, paintings, sculptures, prints, drawings and textiles. There is no entry fee but, of course, any donations are welcome.
