A Personal Collection of Modern Art

This is a very personal museum, established to display the collection of modern, mid-20th century art created by the patron of the arts, Andreas Bechtler. The collection includes the works of Miro, Picasso, Calder, Hepworth, Nicholson, Warhol, Tinguely, Ernst and many others, a collection of more than 1,400 pieces.

The personal space was designed by the Swiss architect Mario Botta, only the second building he designed in the United States. Simple and elegant in its scale and materials, it provides the perfect background for this collection.
