Gallatin Glories

Drink in some gorgeous Gallatin Range scenery on the Hyalite Creek Trail, which begins just a few miles upstream of Hyalite Reservoir within an easy drive of Bozeman. The route ascends Hyalite Creek about five miles to the cirque splendor of the Hyalite Basin, along the way passing a series of very lovely waterfalls. From the basin you can ascend a couple more miles to the summit of 10,300-foot Hyalite Peak, one of the defining mountains in the Gallatins and the wild pedestal for one gob-smacking panoramic view of Greater Yellowstone country.
