One of the pinnacle summertime happenings in Bozeman, the Sweet Pea Festival that turns Lindley Park into one big arts-and-culture party. A tradition some four decades strong, the three-day August fete draws around 16,000 attendees with live music, theater (including a Montana Shakespeare in the Parks performance), dance, and much more. Besides the onstage enticements, there's a craft beer and wine garden, a flower show, and a whole army of arts-and-crafts vendors on hand, plus an exuberant children's run and parade. Along with all that outdoorsy stuff available near at hand, the Sweet Pea Festival makes a heck of a way to celebrate summer in the Northern Rockies.
