"Eat, America!" is the forceful translation of MangiAmerica, which is how Abruzzo-born Chef Marisa Iocco brands the menu at her North End restaurant, Gennaro's 5 North Square. She painstakingly prepares beloved Italian-American family recipes, many of the dishes served in generous family-style proportions to make the homey, around-the-dinner-table sensation complete. And there is tweaking and reimagining here and there to suit a wide spread of palates, as in the numerous vegan-friendly entrees available.
