Old Style Boston

The Red Hat on Ole Scollay Square has been operating since 1907, and it's still one of the popular bars in Boston. It has two floors, the bottom one has a rough-and-ready ambiance and the upper floor is more upscale, but both are welcoming and offer tasty food and a full bar.

American cuisine is part of the Red Hat's appeal, and their menu is quite extensive and has weekly specials. Try the deviled eggs, 10 cent wings or pitchers of beer for really good value. This dive bar has a juke box that adds to its casual atmosphere, and it's great as a late night spot.
