The irregularly shaped red brick and concrete plaza was designed by the architectural firm Kallmann McKinnell & Knowles in 1962 and is comprised of multiple levels. This plaza was modeled after the Piazza del Campo in Italy and since 1968 has gone through improvements suggested by citizens, students, and architects in the area.
