Reborn Oasis

Boston's Urban Wilds are remnants and restored pockets of the city's natural habitats that, integrated into the municipal greenspace system, now serve both as conservation and recreational sites. The Condor Street Urban Wild--long a closed-off dumping ground--provides a precious pocket of East Boston nature along the mostly industrialized, much-abused Chelsea Creek.

Stroll the paths and boardwalk and scout for birdlife from viewing platforms in the Urban Wild's saltmarsh, coastal meadows, and riparian habitat--marveling all the while at how rejuvenating and inspiring such reservoirs of greenery are in the midst of the different sort of "wilderness" that is a major metro area.
