The Christian Science Center, now referred to as the Christian Science Plaza, is a 14.5 acre site owned by the Church of Christ, Scientist. The site was designated as a Boston Landmark in 2011 and houses the church's administrative center as well as its Mother Church.
A reflecting pool, children's fountain, six buildings, and 10.4 acres of open space occupy the plaza. Along with the original Mother Church, a Church Extension, Christian Science Publishing House, Reflection Hall, Colonnade Building, and the Administrative Building sit on the site.
Stop by and admire the architecture of the buildings while you watch children frolic through the fountain. Or sit at the reflecting pool and enjoy a brief respite from the urban jungle as you watch people walk, eat, and take pictures in this quiet, relaxing environment.
