This 152-acre reservation is open year round to the public to enjoy the wetlands and the flourishing plant and wildlife. Belle Island Marsh is the last remaining salt marsh in Boston and its waters are home to a variety of fish, shellfish, and marsh plants.
Take a guided walk to learn about the history of the marsh with topics on salt marsh ecology and the sociological impact on Belle Island. Or just walk yourself along the landscape pathways to the observation tower for a view of the marsh and the city. The scenery is beautiful, but be sure to bring your bug spray.
