Elaine's offers an interesting mix of both American and Mexican comfort foods. It's not quite a diner, it's not quite a taqueria, but something somewhere in between. For example, pulled pork tacos sit on the menu aside Greek salad, shrimp ceviche and buttermilk pie. And if you get the soup of the day, expect a piece of jalapeno cheddar cornbread to come with it.
Menu selections are limited, but the food is roundly awesome. The space is also converted from a house built in the 1950s, giving it a unique ambience in which you can actually go out and eat at picnic tables in the backyard. Just be aware that they only do lunch most days of the week, staying open later only on Fridays and Saturdays.
