The artwork collections curated here focus on the people and places throughout New Mexico. Pieces include conventional artwork like paintings and sculpture from local artists, and featured exhibitions are rotated from the museum's vast permanent collection.
Community outreach is important to the museum, and it oversees and maintains many other historic places throughout Albuquerque. One example is Casa San Ysidro, a 19th-century building that was converted into a plazuela-style rancho.
