One of the city's oldest and largest green spaces sprawling over 150 acres, the Safa Park is considered by many to be Dubai's best park. With three lakes, a myriad species of birds, impressive tree cover, jogging track and a host of facilities for children, the park is popular with residents and tourists alike.
Other facilities include boating, sporting areas and barbecue sites, not to mention grassy lawns, a small forest, and a picturesque waterfall flowing down a hill.
Part of the ambitious Dubai Canal project that has been designed to run through the park, a large part of it has been walled off for construction and earth works. Once it is reopened, these sections have been conceived as waterfront areas.
