Founded in 1912, the Al Ahmadiya School bears the distinction of being Dubai's first public primarily school. Until 1963, classes were conducted in this location. At present, the building and classroom can be toured as a museum with exhibits about the educational system of the emirate.
Most deserving of attention however is the exquisite architecture, with detailed stone carvings, magnificently arched entranceways and ornamental doors. Restored meticulously to its early grandeur in 1995, this historic structure is one of Dubai's most remarkable surviving examples of classic Emirati design.
