The open-air bazaar of Kadiköy Sali Pazari on the Asian side of Istanbul attracts deal-seekers of all stripes, though you may have to work up a bit of nerve to burrow your way into the competitive shopping scrum. Clothes are a major attraction here: cheap knockoffs as well as brand-name garments with defects of one degree or another. But wares go far beyond apparel and accessories: You'll also find fruits, veggies, fish, nuts, spices, and other foodstuffs, plus all manner of crazy trinkets. Bellowing vendors, elbowing fellow shoppers--it's quite the scene at Sali Pazari.
