History & Culture

The impressively arranged Jewish Museum of Turkey--more formally called the Quincentennial Foundation Museum of Turkish Jews--occupies Istanbul's historic Zülfaris Synagogue. The interactive displays here present the history of the Jewish people across the region's many centuries of varying occupation as well as overviews of cultural and religious traditions. Touchscreens, videos, vintage photographs, historical artifacts, audio recordings, and other diverse media and interfaces make this a truly absorbing look into Turkey's rich, longstanding Jewish heritage.
