All Nobels in One Place

This museum is devoted to the history of the Nobel prize and its namesake and founder Alfred Nobel. There are exhibits devoted to past Nobel Laureates and their lives. Alfred Nobel wrote in his will that part of his fortune was to be donated each year for Nobel Prize awards. The tradition has carried on since the year 1901 until today.

The museum opened in 2001 to mark the 100 year anniversary of the prize awards. The museum is located alongside the Swedish Academy and the Nobel Library and all are housed in the former Stock Exchange Building (Börshuset) in Gamla stan, the old town in Stockholm, Sweden.
