Since 1965, this famous beach rave club has been entertaining crowds of trendy locals and restless tourists from its home base in Les Palmeretes village. It gained its reputation in the 1980’s by hosting exclusive concerts for new wave and electronic rock bands like U2, the Pretenders, and Depreche Mode. It became a famous venue for various underground artists as well, making Barraca one of the most colorful and bizarre clubs in Spain. Nowadays, Barraca has its own record label and management agency in addition to the club. Renovated in 2007, the club is like a fantasy techno-psytrance circus, complete with carousel horses, laser shows, guest artists and DJs, and thematic music nights.
