The Pelaires Center for Contemporary Culture, originally the Palacio de Can Veri built in 1625, has been promoting contemporary art since it converted into an art gallery in 1969. The exhibitions are always changing, but holding a reputation for featuring artists like Picasso, Miró and Calder among other famous 20th century contemporary artists ensures an always excellent selection. Because it is a center of art culture as well as a museum, the Pelaires Center has also published several art books featuring graphic artists, writers and poets. Occasionally, the gallery hosts special events with featured artists, accompanied by drinks and music. Although the architecture has Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque features, the Pelaires Center for Contemporary Culture is a modern art hub in Palma.
