Dedicated to Sorolla

The Sorolla Museum was named after the Spanish painter Joaquin Sorolla, who was known for his portraits, landscapes, and pieces revolving around social and historical themes. The museum is located in Sorolla’s old house, which Sorolla’s wife donated so that a museum in his name could be founded. Along with the house, she donated numerous paintings and personal effects as well. The museum’s collection expanded further after the passing of Sorolla’s son, who donated even more of his father’s works. The collection continues to expand with various patrons donating even more of Sorolla’s works so that future generations can continue to appreciate them.
