Swanky Shopping

Salamanca has a well-earned reputation as one of the wealthiest and expensive areas in the city. The district is a great place to shop if you’re aiming for luxurious designer brands. Along Calle de José Ortega y Gasset, you will find a cluster of designer brand stores like Louis Vuitton, Cartier, Dolce & Gabbana, Valentino, and Gucci. Smaller boutiques like Bimba and Lola find homes in the side streets that branch out from the main drag. In addition to an upscale shopping experience, there are many fine dining venues in the area that continue the opulent theme. You can also spot quite a few international embassies in the district (including those of Switzerland, Canada, and the United States)—just in case you need to do a little shopping while you get your passport renewed.
