Salamanca locals have been coming to this friendly tapas bar, located just across the street from the wonderful La Paz market, since 1961. Today, the same range of homemade Spanish tapas and Basque pintxos, plus some innovative modern offerings, are served in classic Spanish fashion. Most of the house specialties are served on baguette slices: try the parajito (a tuna bocadillo), hake fish with mayonnaise, or something with angulas (baby eels), a Basque delicacy. The chefs are proud of their take on the Spanish tortilla, too. Pick a variety of dishes to taste—that is half the fun, after all.
