Tapas and Shots

A popular tapas bar located in Madrid's old town, El Madroño is known for both its delicious tapas and its patented Madroño shot (a shot of sherry served in an edible chocolate shot glass). It's the perfect spot to grab a beer and some tapas and enjoy a relaxing hour or two. The place gets crowded in the evenings as the bar begins to pour drinks a bit more generously, so if you come for dinner be ready for a healthy dose of "atmosphere". Local favorites include the grilled octopus and garlic shrimp.
