Celebration of Revolt

A festival to celebrate Spain's overthrow of the French invasion in 1808, Dos de Mayo is definitely not to be missed if you're in town. Although festivities take place all over the city, a good portion are found in—the rather aptly named—Plaza Dos de Mayo. Here you can expect things to be both a little crowded and positively electric, thanks in part due to the festival's historical significance and also because of the music, dancing, and sports events that find their way onto the street.
