Museo de Bellas Artes will guide you to the latter. In a building that is itself a work of art, you must check out the glass cupola, the discerning eye will pick out fine works by Chilean and international artists. Museo de Bellas Artes has been known to house the temporary exhibitions of such rock stars of modern art as Damian Hirst, Henri-Cartier Bresson, and David Hockney (note: this is actually in a separate museum, the Museum of Modern Art, housed in the same building, but governed by different hours and admission fees).
