Barcelona is the land of fantastic architecture. Mies van der Rohe built the Pavelló Alemany (German Pavilion) for the 1929 Exhibition which housed only the "Barcelona Chair." Now it is a museum or monument intended to appreciate architecture and increase awareness of urban planning. The building itself was one of the earliest of modern rationalist architecture and helped found the movement. Stand outside the shallow pool encompassing the building and enjoy the view.
