A Catalonian Stroll

Las Ramblas is a pedestrian-only thoroughfare that's popular with tourists, buskers, and a few locals. It runs from the towering Columbus Monument (by the water) all the way to Plaça de Catalunya. Along the street, merchants set up shop early in the morning and sell everything from souvenirs to fresh flowers. Besides all of the shopping and dining opportunities, Las Ramblas has some beautiful architecture and historic buildings; just bear in mind that the touristy-ness of the area means that prices will be adjusted accordingly. That being said, this is a great spot for people-watching and soaking in Barcelona vibes in spades, but like with anywhere you travel, be sure to watch your pockets.
